Trip Schedule

On Sunday, September 19th, we will visit the area of Mount Grammos. Grammos is the fourth highest mountain in Greece with an altitude of 2520 meters and its beauty as well as the surrounding area fascinate the visitor from the very first moment.

Our excursion will start from Ioannina with final destination lake Moutsalia located in arrenes Grammou. The name of the lake comes from the Vlach word "moutsali" which means "wet", while the name Arena comes from the also Vlach and Latin "arena", which means "sandy place". They are located in the prefecture of Kastoria near the border with the prefecture of Ioannina at an altitude of 1,730 meters.

Arriving there, we will be able to hik on a beautiful route having an amazing view of the high peaks of the mountain. Then there will be free time to enjoy our stay at the spot by having a picnic side on the lake.

Our departure will be at 07:30 from Ioannina.

mountaineering boot or hiking shoe, water - food, personal backpack, suitable clothing for the season
